Get the facts straight first.
A funding round, an acquisition or a market entry is a business story before it is a brand story. Reporters want the confirmed numbers, the parties involved, the context and someone who can speak to it on the record.
Prepare the confirmed facts, the surrounding context and the spokespeople before agreeing an outreach plan. Announcements that move fast usually move fast because that groundwork was already done.
Where information is embargoed or still being approved, say so in the brief. It changes the sequencing, not the strategy.
