The launch

The Philippines' first HYROX training club.

HYROX combines running with functional workouts in a standardised format: eight 1-kilometre runs, each followed by a different workout station including rowing, sled pushing, and wall balls. Unlike constantly changing CrossFit workouts, HYROX maintains the same format worldwide, allowing global comparison of results.

The new 750-square-metre facility on the third floor of Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig City, features specialised equipment and training zones optimised for HYROX preparation. At the heart of the gym's HYROX preparation is The GRIN Method, a proprietary training system developed by Anton Sietereales. The coaching team is joined by Justin Hernandez, the first Filipino male CrossFit Games athlete and four-time CrossFit Open National Champion for the Philippines.

At the media launch, two certified GRIN Method coaches went head-to-head on the H-700 workout: a 300m Run, 20 Bag-Facing Burpees, 300m Ski Erg, 20 Energy Bag Lunges, 40m Sled Push & Pull, and 20 Wall Balls. Beyond HYROX-specific training, the facility includes the BOOMBOX boxing club, Cobrinha Manila Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a recovery suite with ice baths and saunas.
